BIG Announcement!

Mosaic Family:

As you know, Pastor JM McGinnis has accepted God's call to become the Student Pastor at Chicago First Church of the Nazarene. Since then, I have been searching for our next Pastor to Families with Students, and God has been good to us. I reached out to Trevecca Nazarene University and Nashville First Church of the Nazarene for recommendations, and everyone I asked gave me the name Jacob Cobb.

Jacob has been pursuing a call to ministry since the age of 15. He became involved in youth ministry during the summer of his first year at Trevecca Nazarene University and has been engaging in youth ministry since then. He has a clear call from God to pastor students and their families. Jacob is married to Anna, who grew up at Mosaic Church (then Harvest Community Church). Jacob and Anna are 23 and have been married for three years this August. His driving passion is to build community within a church that allows teenagers to feel safe and supported and learn about Jesus in ways that they can clearly understand and put into practice. Currently, Jacob is the leader of a growing student ministry in Sparta, Tennessee. Having experience on the local and district levels of youth leadership, Jacob has developed his skills in teaching, communication, and building relationships. Jacob has a teachable spirit and is eager to grow.

After an in-person interview with Jacob and his wife Anna in Nashville on April 1, followed by a time of listening for the Holy Spirit, I extended the invitation to Jacob for a visit to Mosaic Church. This past Sunday (April 24), Jacob prayed in our morning service, had a great conversation with our Church Leadership Team in the afternoon meeting, and spent the evening with our teens and families at our home. It was a great day!

I AM EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT I HAVE OFFERED THE FULL-TIME POSITION OF "PASTOR TO STUDENTS AND FAMILIES" TO JACOB COBB, AND HE HAS ACCEPTED!

We are super grateful for the way God has worked to ensure continuity in our Student Ministry through the summer. We believe that Jacob's years as our Student Pastor will be fruitful! Jacob will spend the week of May 31 - June 5 with Pastor JM in a productive transitional period and leave for Summer Youth Camp with our teens on Monday, June 6. (...talk about breaking him in!!)

Even before I arrived here, JM, Rhonda, and Leo McGinnis were a bright shining light to our church and continue to be., We will miss them deeply at Mosaic. I am so grateful for JM's participation in this transition to ensure that our Student Ministry is well cared for and does not miss a beat. He would have had it no other way!

We will celebrate the McGinnis Family on Sunday, June 5, along with a gathering meal following the morning service.

If you would like to send a welcome message to Pastor Jacob, you can email him at jacob@mosaicatlanta.net. We are so excited for God's continued blessing on our Student Ministry. We will be reorganizing Mosaic Kids Ministry and will talk more about that soon!

YOU ARE LOVED!
